I used to live in Oscoda, Michigan when my dad was stationed at Wortsmith (sp?) AFB about 25 yrs ago. I was there 2 1/2 yrs ago in Port Huron, and now I will be visiting Port Huron and other places up there every year as my parents have just moved back there. My mom was born and raised in Michigan. Mackinac Island is an awesome place to go. Wish I could avoid Detroit, but I have to drive through it to get to Port Huron.

Oh yeah, most of my life has been spent in Michigan. It is a bad place to live right now if you are looking for a job, we've had the highest unemployment rate in the country for months. That is sad for families as there is no reason for kids to stay around. It is beautiful though, I live on the shore of Lake Michigan. We definitely have all four seasons and some years they are prettier than others but there is something to be said for all of them.

I've lived in Michigan most of my life. I've travelled through more than half the U.S. states and overseas and still have to say I wouldn't rather live anywhere else. I love Michigan! Both vacations this year were within Michigan - hiking/camping on South Manitou Island, playing on Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, exploring Mackinac Island (and sampling LOTS of fudge), taking my Jeep on the sandy back-roads of the upper peninsula and exploring the beautiful woods and amazing coasts of Painted Rocks National Lakeshore. There's no better place than our beautiful state. :-)

I am from there, lived there alot of years. I recommend seeing as much of the state as you can including the Upper Peninsula, the Lake Michigan shore, around the bridge and even the Detroit area. It is a great state.

Yes - once a long time ago. I saw the aurora-borealis up there. That was the only time I ever saw the lights.
