Would they complain about a male carrying pink equipment. If so, it is NOT gender discrimination.... do your tools follow union and or government specifications. Perhaps they may also not want any one employee standing out drastically from another while doing their job... and unusually colorful equipment might do that.... think about other reasons before feeling YOU are a victim for no good reason...

I presume from your avatar you are female.
Personally, I find it hard to believe that anyone complained about your pink toolbox. Personally, I'd like the statement it appears to make ("I'm feminine and know what I'm doing with tools, deal with it"). Same with the bows and nail polish.
However...
If the rule is that nobody can have pink toolboxes or ribbons in their hair, it's not discrimination.
Dumb, but there is plenty of empirical evidence to prove that dumb is quite legal.
Now, how do you go forward with this and get what you want? I'm GLAD you asked me that.
Find an AT&T / Verizon catalog for employees or visit the company store. I don't know where it is, but you can find it easily. Buy a hat and or windbreaker with the logo on it. I suggest pink for the color. See if they have "girly" things like barrettes etc. If they don't permit that, call the head office asking why your office won't allow their logo. If they do, after about two weeks they've pretty much accepted pink.

It sounds like discrimination of some kind. If they don't like a pink toolbox, tell them you have new one comming and tell them it's purple with yellow stripes just to see what they say, or you can tug your tools in a different purse or in a beifcase, then tell them that they didn't say anything about that lol. If you're good at embrodery, do your (pink) lunch box with that, you'll be taking your pink lunchbox, but emboarded with a different color.

you might want to read your employee handbook or if you are a member of the union your union by laws that govern the uniformity of thier employees, i dont see why they would say anything about the toolbox but your nair polish and bows in your hair would probably not be allowed, but if it is just someone saying that you cant have your toolbox there because they are offended and there is no official policy on the colors of your toolbox and tools then i would file a complaint against them for harrassment since they are making your work place a hostile enviroment

I can understand the nailpolish and stuff because of the work you do. It just may be company policy. I would talk to someone and ask what their policies are. I worked at a place, it was a restaurant where we weren't allowed to have bracelets, more than 2 earrings in an ear, no noticeable tattoos, etc. I could understand it. But, the bartender had tattoos covering BOTH arms and they never said a word to him. Guess because he was such a real good bartender. .

That's actually color discrimination. Your tool box may be consider part of your uniform which the company has total power to implement.

i will see what you're asserting, yet i think that that is greater discrimination by way of fact of sexual orientation. The reasoning is that usa of america is a Christian theocracy. to those christians gays are undesirable and set to 2nd-type citizenship. that incorporates eliminating the terrific to marry.

1st I think the idiot who complained needs to be treated by some pro, or some good old fashioned *** kicking, your company is trying to keep peace in the family and a customer happy right or wrong, you have a legitimate complaint and the A.C.L.U. no doubt would love to jump on this but, is it worth it? you won't get any thing materialistic from it.

well, if it's not gender discrimination, it sure sounds like jerk overdrive. talk to your supervisor about this, ask not to go back to that office and move on. if that does no good, see your union rep. if not a union member, find a lawyer. document everything, a witness or three would help and get satisfaction!
