pervert father?

each time me and other members of the family walk in the computer room, my dad quickly clicks off what he's lookin at and leaves a blank screen or something to clear the system...how can i find out what he's lookin at. he clears the obvious history and doesn't leave files for us to look at. i know a bit about computers but not enough to know where to look. Me and another family member think he's pervin at porn...child porn? this is why i want to know. please help me

And I am guessing the other family member is your Mom.

The other answerers have given good suggestions on how you can get the information.

I just want to add another caution.
There may indeed be a number of reasons he clears everything when people walk in. And yes, it could be porn. It could also be gambling. Or ... who knows?

Are you ready for the possible consequences should you discover he is having an affair, looking at (adult) porn .... or gay porn? Your parents may get divorced.

Unless he has shown other signs of being a pedophile, I would not assume that he is looking at child porn. If he is looking at gay porn he would be every bit as cautious .. and it doesn't mean he is going to go out and have a gay relationship.

I say, give the man his privacy, unless there is good reason not too, and only you can be the judge of that. (Like what he is doing is interfering with his duty as a father).

But if you choose to spy on him to find out what he is doing, be prepared to deal with some ugly consequences from him and perhaps down the road. Just be ready is all I am saying.

Your dad expects and DESERVES privacy.

Maybe he gets a kick out of looking at things on the internet that he doesn't want you to see.

Or maybe it really is private.

My seven-year-old reads and remembers EVERYTHING.
So I don't want to go to a company party or picnic and have my child ask my boss, "Why is this company in violation of thier contract with you?" Yeah, that would be really great!

I may not have a job much longer.

On the other hand, if you are an adult and your father is living with you, you may have some explaining to do if he is looking at illegal stuff on your computer / internet connection.

You could try doing a search on "My Computer" for "*.jpg", *.jpeg",
"*.avi", "*.mpg", "*.mpeg", "*.divx", or "*.mov".

If he's really clever, though, you won't find anything.

If you do find something questionable, what will you do?

If you DO find child porn, your are required by law (In the U.S.) to report it.

What happens then? Your dad goes to jail, and then what?

If you find files like this, and you don't report it, then you could be in trouble, too.

Why do you care, let a man do what he wants to do. Looking at porn is not perverted, it's pleasure..

But no, if he's clearing the history and temporary internet files then you can't find out really unless you get a parental program which he should be using on you.

Quite often when someone walks into the room I will minimize everything and clear the screen its a reflex, even if I was just on Yahoo Answers. If you want to know what he is typing, then try using a key logger so you can see what sites he is typing in.

Download a keylogger program, adults use this to see what there kids are looking at but in this case you are doing opposite. Are you sure he is up to no good, could it not be he is buying presents for your xmas or something.
If he is getting a kick out of porn, then there is one things that will tell you if he is HIS HARD-ON (erection) So next time he is doing no good get him to stand up. You get the picture!!!!!!

There's at least a dozen other reasons why he doesn't want other people knowing what he's doing. Most of them are his private concern and none of yours. Would you appreciate him prying into everything you do on the computer, no matter how harmless? Unless he's given you reason to think he's into kiddie porn, mind your own business!

try the cookies folder
C:\Documents and Settings\\Cookies
there will be files like
[e-mail]
just type the site name into your browser
also try temporary internet files
C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files
there may be some downloaded videos in here
of course if you father deletes these as well then, unless you get some keylogging software which will track everything he types (including urls), you have very little chance of finding out what he is going on

click on this link and download a FREE KGBSPYkeylogger and set it in INVISIBLE mode it records all the key strokes,visited webpages,screenshots, in its log file check the log file. you will have all passwords information off your dads emails and all visited webpages and hidden r locked locations of P.C .

First sorry about your dad being a perv! i feel bad for you kids. Sick, very sick. Try this, there also is hardware to record all key strokes amongst other things you can place to see what anybody does on the pc
