I think a really good fake tree is expensive but worth it. I think you get what you pay for. If you don't have one, get a real one this year and then buy a great fake one from the sale in January when they are reduced. I think it is so sad when I see all the trees out on the pavement after Xmas because people don't seem to know how to dispose of them properly.

Real trees are nice because they have that nice smell, but the problem is that you have to water them and worry about all the little needles falling off, and then have to find a way to get rid of them after the holiday, plus they become expensive to buy every year.

If you buy a fake tree you can defer the expensive costs of buying a tree every year, and they are easy to clean up. You do have to find a place to store it every year though, which isn't too bad if you have a big enough space.

Personally I would choose the fake tree, we have one at our house and truthfully we do miss the smell of a real tree, but they do sell candles and other things that smell like the real tree, but they are alot easier to deal with, and it looks good all the time because it doesn't turn brown and die before christmas!

Personal choice. But there are some pretty nice looking fake & over time they pay for them selves. Less chance of fires. No messy needles to clean up. If you have small children about these can hurt the wee feet. Then there is the disposal after.Often you have to pay for that again. The cost of the real trees keep increasing. For me the fake was the answer after many yrs. & countless dollars for the real thing. No regrets for changing. Except for the grumbles of the grown Kids.

REAL is the only way to go and this is coming from someone that is allergic to the tree… but I will never give up a real one… and our tree has to be BIG and no we do not have a big house… the bigger the better we will move furniture out of the room for it. It has become a tradition for friends and family to come see our tree to see if we top those in past years!! And don’t forget the lights tons of lights…. You know you have enough one when you stand back from the tree and squint your eyes and all you see is twinkles with no bare spaces then you know you have done your job lol

Real Xmas Trees are best,
But go for a non drop variety,
The traditional"green" tree drops loads of needles and have given xmas trees a bad name,
These days most retailers will only stock a small number of these. because of consumer demand they stock more of the "blue" variety,
whilst theses aren't really blue they do tend to have a blue tinge to them. They also have a thicker trunk making them look like a proper tree
Although they are called non drop they do actually drop a few needles but not many and they are a lot softer.
The non drop variety used to be really expensive but prices have gone down loads , I sell nordman non drop tree's for about £3 a foot, so a 6 ft tree will only cost you about £18.and it will make christmas seem so much more traditional and nicer than a fake one

Fake, used to have a real one, got tired of still vacuuming needles out of the rug in July. I put mine up the middle of November, its hard work, I have 500 small collectible ornaments and this way I can enjoy the tree for a long time and my back will feel good by the time I have to take it down, which is usually New Years Day with a bottle of wine.

What's Xmas? if you mean Christmas, we have a fake tree. I would love to have a real tree, but I 2 of us in our family are allergic. The fake one looks very real.

We always bought real ones and every year my daughter would get sick. It took us a few years to realize she was allergic to the tree. There are so many viruses and bugs going around this time of year that unfortunately we didn't realize it as fast as I wish we would have. Now we use a fake one and it looks completely real. It gives me a tiny bit of a good feeling, too, knowing we are not contributing to the cutting down of trees, even though I realize that it's a big business anymore and trees are grown specifically so they can be cut down and used for Christmas.

I love the smell of a real tree but I have a fake one because of hooving up all the dropped needles, also if the needle pricked the foot of my cat or one of my step children.... I believe prevention is better than cure.
Plus the price of real trees year after year adds up and I know it keeps people employed from planting, tending and cutting the trees but then after 24 days of being up they are all destroyed.

I love fake Trees, real ones don't seem that nice anymore, and they always loose their needles, very messy. Fake ones these days are so beautiful, they look so much better than real ones now, and there are so many different type of fake ones that you can choose from now too.
