Usually the skilled workforce gets paid more money than the unskilled workforce but they have to go to college/university to get their qualifications or have low wages if they are on an appenticeship until they get their qualifications. The unskilled workforce usually gets money at the end of the week/month.

The skilled workforce have lots of experience and are therefore more productive in their work. They are familiar with the environment they are working with and can handle pressure and any kind of situation better than unskilled workforce.
The unskilled workforce on the other hand are new to the field, so therefore the management has control on what skills the unskilled workforce should and should not learn. The problem with skilled workforce is that it is difficult to "un-learn" skills especially when there is a drastic change in procedures, etc. The other advantages of unskilled workforce is the cheaper cost of getting them to work for you.

Unskilled laborers don't need to be paid as much and are often taken advantage of. I guess that can be either a good thing or a bad thing depeding on whose perspective you are talking about. Skilled workers can do jobs that no one else can, but you have to pay them a lot more.

If you employ a skilled worker then you only need to give them basic training whereas an unskilled worker will be raw and will need more training to do the same job.
