dasara, dashehra or vijayadashmi is the hindu festival widely celebrated in india.is the festival of victory over evil.as per hindu mythology on this auspicious day lord ram killed the evil power rawana. to remember this victory on evil this festival is celebrated
every year at the end of monsoon.on this day shakti puja(worship of super power) also performed.

Yeah, it is an Indian festival. It comes before Diwali i think. I don't know what happened then though.
