My husband and I have been there 4 times, we got married in Punta Cana in April. We love it there, hence why we keep returning. We have only been to Punta Cana and the resorts there are beautiful. Just remember that you are going to a tropical island, its not like home. You may find the food a little different but its still very good. Outside the resorts there is poverty and there isnt much to see or do on your own, its best you go on an excursion. The outback safari tour is the best like someone else mentioned. Its alot of fun and it gives you an opportunity to see what the island is like outside resort living. Good luck and have fun, hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

I went to Punta Cana last December and I have to say that I didn't love it. There was nothing really outside of the resort. The resort it self was beautiful but very badly run and the staff were farely rude and arrogant, with the exception of a few.
The island itself is pretty and tropical although there is a lot of crime (mugging and sexual assult) so they don't really like you to leave to leave the resort at night, although I did with groups and we were fine. The only thing I really enjoyed there was a safari/tour I went on where we road around in a jeep, drank, and ended up horse backriding down the beach. Our Dominican tour guide was helarious, that I must say although he was keeping up with the rum drinking so that may have had something to do with it. I have heard a lot of similar things from other folks about the problems at the resorts but it is still pretty and you can still have fun when you are with your friends and with the activities.

It is an excellent place with nice weather, nice people, good food and good music. Go out and see as much as you can and have fun. The biggest problem the island has are those all-inclusive resorts. Most of the are ripping people off by trying to scare them into staying inside the resort, instead of going out to see the real country. If you go out and patronize some small local businesses and go to remote beaches and mountains you will have a great experience.

BEAUTIFUL
My girlfriend and I went in March. To just go, relax, sit by the pool/ocean, whatever, the most relaxing, enjoyable time i have had in my life. the resort put on shows every night that we went to and enjoyed, as well as having any type of drink whenever we wanted it, and food was suprisingly ok. Not american cuisine, but can definitely make due with it. The fresh squeezed fruit juices in the mornings were the best to wake up to. Be careful about going on adventures. we did the contiki cruise that lasted about 4 hours with a small amount of snorkeling involved, and were very sick that night.

the climate would be a lot warmer than the states. it extremely relies upon on what portion of the rustic you're located. The northern section would be a splash cooler than different areas of the rustic. My relatives lives in Rio San Juan, and it rained a lot in Dec/Jan and it grew to become right into a splash chilly. Its a captivating united states. you will take excitement in your self!

I've had a few friends go to Punta Cana, they loved it... I had the trip but had to cancel, have been crying ever since. They liked it even better than Cancun.

This depends on what area you are going on "how nice it is". As well as where you are staying will determine how good your holiday goes.
So in other words I can't answer with just this info.
