There are no environmental influences when you play indoors. When you play outdoors, the wind, light, heat, etc. all affect your play. When you play outdoors, the person or persons on the other side of the net also are experiencing the same weather conditions. Weather can equalize players who are of different levels: a player better than you may not like the heat, but you are in better shape, so if you can make them work hard, you'll stand a better chance at winning your match. As for your eyesight: I've found over the years that if I'm going from indoor to outdoor tennis, I tend not to see the ball well because my eyes haven't adjusted to the lighting. I also have issues with the court speed. It takes a bit of time to get used to everything, but after 30 minutes or so, I'm generally OK--but those initial 30 minutes can be frustrating!!

When you play indoors the weather elements are taken out of your game. You do not have the sun in your eyes , or the wind behind you and sending your shots just out when you thought you had hit it well. The fact is though, if you want to play at a high level you have to learn to deal with that stuff and play well in all conditions. You have to be able to adjust to anything.

You probably need to play out doors more frequently to get used to the sunlight. It blinds you sometimes, when you are inside you have control over the environment and it suits you better whereas outside you cant control the wind and where the sun is. It is much more difficult to play outside do to the environmental changes and it is best if you want to play tennis well you should play outside. Because once you play outside it is much easier to play inside because you can deal with whether or not there is wind.

Its harder outdoors than indoors because outside you can be hot or cold, and the sun can be in you eyes.

It's a lot easier to play outdoors because it is usually free.
