Why not do everyone a favor and go to the movies? You'll have a nice evening and so will the kids.

keep the front house light off and stay (hide) in your room.
by setting the car alarm in order to scare the "kiddos" you're asking for "TRICKS".

Go out for the night so you are not at home. Turn off your porch light... the unwritten rule is that trick or treaters only go to houses with the porch light on.

I live in NW Montana, and this year I'll be spending the night in a remote campground. Since I have my conservation license I may also do some fishing and hunting while I'm at it.
Of course, you could always put a 'bug off' sign on the door.

Don't turn on your porch light. Stay in your room. I don't like the trick or treat game anymore. Too dangerous. Best to stay in your room. I still think you should leave your car alarm on so no one will harm it.

Turn off all the lights in the front of the house. And optionally, leave a help-yourself bucket of candy near the doorstep.

I'm 65 and my partner is 50, she always goes out and buys sweets for the kids and we are pleased when they call, especially the small ones. What is wrong with trick or treat?, I always ask them which they would prefer. !!! I think it's nice to see kids enjoying themselves, same goes for Guy Fawkes and Carol singing. Or would you like to see them damaging cars and graphite, which is what some turn to as they get older and bored. Lighten up man.

Turn of your porch light, and turn off all the lights on the front of the house, so it will seem as if no one is home. That should do it just fine. If they ring or knock, ignore it.

uhhhhhhh, where is ur halloween spirit here? I mean come on its just one night for a couple of hours, you really need to lighten up. that is just some advice. and here ill answer ur question, staying up hidden in ur room and playing stupid computers games is the better idea, its mean to scare littlw kids when they are just trying to have fun.
