To give you an idea, Ive recently watched 'Death in Venice' and 'The Night Porter', both Dirk Bogard films, and Ive had a bit of a Hitchcock phase as well.
Any suggestions for older, possibly rarely seen films I could watch next?

You might enjoy the Ealing comedies, if you enjoy a snapshot of comedy past. Try The Lavender Hill Mob, Passport to Pimlico and others of that ilk. A film book for Christmas might be a good idea! (Ask for Halliwell's film guide for the definitive history of films.)

Not sure if you are looking for comedy, but Some Like It Hot is a totally brilliant old film (Jack Lemon, Tony Curtis & Marilyn Monroe).
