Did you ever get hyped up to watch a movie, only to find out that all the critics, or anyone else who recommended it were just WAY off base?
What movie, & why was it a disappointment?

Tons of them. In fact, almost everything Hollywood does these days is an over-hyped piece of $hit!

A lot of people here seem to be on the Harry Potter kick and only to follow suit I will also. One movie that really let me down was Harry Potter 4. Not to make direct comparisons to the book, because you can't put the entire book on film but, It would have been nice to see the Sphinx in the maze.
Anyway, I was the most excited to see 4, so much that I paid and extra 5 bucks to see it IMAX style which was disappointing as well. Don't see an IMAX movie unless said movie is filmed for the IMAXX screen! Take my word for it!
I felt H.P. 4 didn't graduate from the direction of the 3rd movie.
There was so much potential to make 4 jaw dropping and heart racing. For me I fond my self droopy eyed and tired. Don't get me wrong I didn't hate it. I just thought their was much more room for improvement. Much more room to bring home the heavy issues in the movie.

Plenty of them...first ones are Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned they both sucked and of course you can't stick a lot of the book in movies, but at least leave the couple good parts there like the endings at least.

Aliens vs. Predator.......Two of the predators got spanked right off the bat. If the next one is as bad as this one, they can kiss the franchise goodbye. Superman movies are a disappointment as well. I'm a diehard superman fan, he needs to be fighting something that can match his strength like Doomsday. Lex Luthor is yesterday's villian.

Hostel, a huge disappointment. I was expecting something of brilliant calibre and yeah it was pretty gory in places but really didn't meet the standards of a good horror movie

Casablanca. They say it's classic but I got SO bored with it. I found it incredibly over rated.
