It is already happening in Mexico and it has nothing to do with a fence. Mexican in Mexico are waking up to the realization that their gov't doesn't work and each elections promises have been empty.
What most Americans are not aware of is 45% of all the produces is exported out of the countries. Cheap labor here is so our food producers can be competive in the global market.
You and I in turn pay the same if the wages were $15 hr or $5 hr.
also many of our produce is imported from hot houses in countries like Holand. Check it out.
When will Americans wake up?
Mexico is on the verge of Civil war some of the states in Mexico are already in anarchy. Vincente Fox won't even send in the troops because he is afraid it will spill over into other states, but it is anyway. So we better build that fence fast or we will have a bigger problem

It would have to be a wall, like the great wall of China, cause a mere fence, they would find a way to cut the wire. But then, yes, I believe they would rise up and get rid of their president and all the evil going on.

The middle class is a big consumer block of people who could boycott anyone hurting their lifestyle, look at the FORD company, when we stop buying, they start to go bankrupt.
Middle class Americans should use their buying power together.

Actually the more apropos answer would be to recommend buying stocks in manufacturers of ladders and shovels.
The only way to stop people trying to illegally earn money is to punish those who pay out that money.

I think the fence on the border is a good signal to buy Stanley stock. They are going to be selling a lot of cutters.

Stem the flow? Somewhat. It's not a panacea, but I don't have any better ideas so I support it.
Get Mexicans to rise up? I have no idea.

It will have a positive effect on the border reducing contraband, drugs and people smuggling but it will not stop any of it. It will stop when the employers get hammered for hiring illegals.
