Go to the laptop website link below and get the service manual for your laptop. Carefully remove the keyboard and wipe down the plastic relay sheet. Some of the pop may still be inside and may yet spill down into a sensitive area and cause a total loss. Clean out the laptop as much as you can and keep liquids away. It's not as hard as you would think once you have some direction. Give it a go, I know you can do it. Oh Yeah and go to Radio Shack for the special tool you need to disassemble it.

My laptop has a whole load of miscellanious stains, I spilt some milk once, it pooled on the table under the laptop, it stank for a week but still worked ok lol give it a wipe, betcha it'll be fine...... they're made of harder stuff than those namby pamby monitor and keyboard jobbies.
Oooh you can also buy one of those spray thingies to get the bits of baccy out if you're a smoker = )

I would have to say that is a good possibility... I am surprised that you laptop still works. Wow, who cares if the keys stick, it survived half glass of coke being spilled on it.

They might do. The best thing to do if you are confident, is look up online the instructions for taking your laptop apart! I found them once for Sony Vaio and it gave the correct order and advice. Try and mop up as best as you can after removing a few bits of casing. DONT USE WATER! You can use cotton buds in alcohol.

they could but i always take a q-tip with a little rubbing alcohol on the end of it (just damp not dripping) and this cleans it

Sometimes. If it does happen there are special things that will help to clean it up.

Is that really why it's sticky??
Wipe it off quick...it will ruin the keyboard.
