Very few make it on talent alone...Industries such as the fashion industry, or music, film, etc.. can take virtually anyone and make them popular through clever marketing. Just because someone is popular does not mean they are talented or the best. Also, what is popular is very subjective in terms of why many like it. Just as with most things, what one likes, another abhors.

God only knows. Most of them aren't even attractive. Walk down any high street and see a dozen girls more attractive than any so called super model. They only walk up and down a catwalk looking as if they have a back problem and pose for photos. Any one can do it.
