Actually, the risk that you will notice right away, is that your lung capacity diminishes very very quickly! Does your friend like to be active? Sports, dancing, running, swimming, climbing stairs, you name it. Your friend will within days, weeks literally, notice SHORTNESS OF BREATH compared to before. Maybe not like an older person, but LESS. Can't quite go quite as far as before, or as fast as before, etc. Sinus headaches, migraines, very possible. Unfortunately, your body will adjust, and you'll adjust. The headaches may fade, you'll get used to not trying to win the race, etc. And of course, all the obvious things will follow: Addiction,I'm sure you know the lung cancer, emphysema, financial loss buying them and paying dr. bills, society looking down on you, higher health insurance payments, not getting the "non-smokers only" jobs, etc. STOP NOW, WHEN YOU CAN......................this is from a smoker of 38 years.........BELIEVE ME

Your lungs will recover if you stop within a few years. But it's really not worth the struggle, so don't even start. It's not only unhealthy, but it's expensive!

your friend will get lung cancer at the age of 30 and will have heart problems that might require him/her to have a bypass and he might need to even be hospitalised or die
