The reason why I ask is because I am a Libra and I'm interested in somebody who absolutely refuses to date a Libra. It's really frustrating because I feel like we would be perfect for each other, but now I'm not so sure if he's this narrow minded...

They might be on to something? It never worked out with any of the "wrong" signs I dated. But here's what you do...........get on that ophiuchus site and you can tell him that you are not a Libra after all. It's a long shot, but might work. In any case, you can get him alone for a while to do "research" on this. Go back to the ophiuchus question on page #1 and go to that site and see what sign you really are. Save the link so you can show him later, too.

Good point! If he is this narrow minded you probably don't want to get too emotionally involved with him. Unless you have a natal chart and synastry chart done for each and every person you date, it is impossible to know whether you are compatible with someone or not. Using Sun signs by themselves is a crazy way to decide.There are lots of variables in charts that have to be taken into consideration.

I believe it is totally wrong to date someone based on astrological signs alone...(it is also wrong to rule someone out based on their sign.)
While the zodiac does give us helpful hints when it comes to the signs...it was never implied to keep you from dating someone of a certan sign. If this person thinks it will not work out because you are a Libra, they are wrong. I have seen many many people who dated out of their "recommended" signs and have successful happy relationships...and this person you are after will never know until they try.!!

Astrology appears to only bias against itself. It seems to consider age differences, education, race, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, or economic stature unimportant. Nor family upbringing. I've seen no one volunteer information on issues like single parenting or divorce. These can't be simply ignored.
But based on someones compatibility just on birthday, time and location of birth is bigotry as well.

they are stupid.. first of all, there are many aspects to astrology..not just sun (astrological) signs..there's the moon, mercury, venus..and so on..
second, i believe all sun signs have something special
aries=lives in the moment
taurus=knows what's the best car, sheets, restaurunts, luxary hotel..etc..they are pros when it comes to comforts
gemini=an AWSOME communicator (good liar too), and a natural humorist.
cancer=knows how to decorate and how to personalise things+make them feel homie
leo=knows how to shine. they are warm hearted and are enthusiastic
virgos=are awsome at picking up the small details
libras=natural diplomats, and appreciate beauty=art, music, poetry..etc
scorpio=is caring, and treasures and protects the people s/he loves.
sagitterius=spontanious, loves adventures+is an optimist
capricorn=responsible, reliable..will stick by your side no matter what
aquarius=an intellect, self relient and doesn't care what people think
pisces=is romantic and sees the good in people

I do not agree with that. They generalize the characteristics of the signs, as if all Tauris' are going to be the same, or any other sign. You fall in love with the person right for you, not right for your sign. Maybe it has something to do with chemistry, but I don't think so.

Unless he's tried with Librans before with bad results, I'd have to agree that he's being narrow-minded. It might be that he read somewhere that his sign is least compatible with yours, but even that is no guaranteed thing. I think he's trying to play it safe, but he might be overdoing it.

that they are limiting themselves in their experiances, i do favor signs while dating but i dont cast people out because of a sun sign. i know that there are many aspects the other planets can make in favor of a relationship with any sign.

it really limits who they'll have a chance with. of course, this is also a way of abrogating any responsibility in case of problems. 'oh, like our signs are wrong so we can't go out' and stuff. feh.
on the other hand, what the hell. it's probably as good a way as most to figire out who go to out with or not. what's your sign?

think they are saving themselves from a wealth of frustration!Having said that, you can't help who you fall in,love with and you should keep an open mind
