More than likely you may have an ingrown toe nail, if there is swelling and puss discharge from and in around the nail bed then you may have infection taking place, you should try a hot bath soak with epsom salt, use some antibiotic over the counter such as bactine and be careful with close tight fitted shoes. Also you should considered wearing open aired shoes like sandles for a short while because wearing tennis shoes can generate heat promoting bacterial growth and compress your toes together causing more pain and swelling. Seek medical attention from a Podiatrist.

An ingrowing toenail it is indeed, I suffered with one in each toe for years, I discovered I didn't need to, 1 hour at a Chiropodist and its out, and all that pain and pus is gone forever! Your toe will be in a big bandage for 6 or 7 weeks after, but its well worth it!

You need to go to your doctor or a minor med place. You could go to the ER but they will make you wait, with such a problem, for hours. You may need antibiotics and the injury probably needs to be properly cleaned. They may have to drain it as well. If you are diabetic call your doctor now. Diabetics foot injuries are extremely serious. Decreased blood supply, innervation and healing factors can easily lead to dead toe, foot, ankle, thigh...you get the picture.

Go see your GP for some anti-biotics, you can also stick it in some hot water/salt to bring out the infection put a bit of bandage on it afterwards to keep it clean.
this will sound disgusting but squeeze it while its in the water to bring out the puss it hurts but its better than leaving it build up and get more painful.

if no other wound on toe then sounds like an ingrown.
u really need antibiotics as an injury or wound to the toe can lead quickly to infection due to it being cooped up in shoes n stuff a lot and being near floors where dirt can lurk..........
good luck. hope that helps. xx

Before visiting your Dr. try soaking your foot in fairly warm water, that has dissolved salt in it. See is the salt cleans and draws the infection out.

go see a doctor or find one of those animal hunters, "like the ones that suck the puss from a poisonous bite" and pay them to suck the puss out of your toe
