I was just going through the same thing. Talking to them can help a little, but won't change their mind. Your friend needs help, and fast. I can tell he means a lot to you and there's always the chance he could get over it, but that wont happen unless he gets the right help. It'll suck for him at first, and it'll make you feel a little bad, but you'd be doing the right thing. You could be the one to save him from himself, and that right there is the most help you can give a friend. Talk to a counselor or therapist, and if that doesn't work he needs to be taken to the ER as a suspected crisis case. I know lots of people think he's dramatic or something, but for some people, this is real, they really feel that bad about themselves that they'd do something like that. Please don't take something like suicide lightly, because once it happens it can never be reversed. I hope your friend turns out ok, and trust me that you're doing the right thing by getting him help.

First of all changing his mind is not the objective here, getting him some help is!!! Go to his family they can baker act him or next of kin if no family. Suicide is a scream for help and telling him not to do it is NOT the answer to the problem! He needs professional guidance. If you want to help him then pull all inside and outside sources in and help him soon! That is the best thing you can do. I have been there and know how you feel. You can't do this alone and you can't hold the weight of blame alone. If you get him some help then everyone will prevail! Good Luck!

All I can say is be there for him the best that u can. Dont give up and have patience. Try talking to him til u are blue in the face. Get him to see that his actions will affect everyone else around him. Tell him there are people who does care for him and u are one of them. Just dont give up on your friend, he needs you the most right now. Keep him up in prayer even if u dont pray.

I was just talking to another girl about this the other day (seriously). I am emo, I have tried to commit suicide many times. You can email me if you want and I can tell you the same story (by story I mean a true story that happened to me) that I told her to save her friends life (show it to your friend, I might save his life too).

You have to get others involved, tell his parents, tell the school. Try and talk him into going to get help from a therapist. Tell him he need to stop suffering in silence, and let someone, who is a professional in this field, help him. Thank God he has a nice, concerned friend like you!

nothing you do or say will change his mind, you need to talk to a trusted adult immediately, right now, it's not ratting him out it is helping him. get off the computer and go tell someone who you trust, they will know what to do. good luck. you sound like a caring friend.

You alone can't stop him. You have to get an adult to help you. It can be anyone from your cousin to your teacher to your neighbor. Just tell an adult that you trust, and they will be able to help your friend. Also, tell his parents/guardians. They need to know about his situation. I wish you the best of luck!

If he's endangering anyone's life, and that includes his own, you should call 911 immediately. There are trained professionals to deal with this, and I bet anyone on here answering this question is not a psychiatrist...
