Evolutionarily speaking, we didn't come from any extant animal. There is a tool scientists use called a phylogenetic tree...(google it)...This is a way of charting when species diverged from other species. The most recent ancestor we probably "came from" is no longer living. (i.e. extinct). However, we most likely share this ancestor with the living gorrillas, chimps, and other great apes. This common ancestor evolved from a more simple species, and that from a simpler one...and so on through time until we reach the first living organism on earth. The first signs of life on our planet appeared approx. 4.2 billion years ago.
Note: the extinction of dinosaurs was not a full-out extinction of all living beings. It was a mass extinctions, yes...but not everything died out. Dinosaurs were reptiles, we are mammals. This means they most likely did not lead to human evolution since mammals co-existed with dinosaurs.

Primate type animals...there were still a lot of mammals running around, but nothing too big because they would keep getting eaten.
Of course if you believe in straight up "Creationism" then God twinkled his nose like Samantha on Bewitched and everything was created in an instant...but I do hope you are more intelligent than that. If that were the case, then dinosaurs never existed...which kinda conflicts with the fact that there are huge bones in the ground.
