Do you think there are enough Christians who would vote to amend the Constitution so that from now on our country could be based on Christian principals? We could teach ID in public schools and if they didin't like it, they could enroll their children in private secular schools. We could pray before a football game.

If the Christians would stand togather they could change a lot of things that are infecting our society, and as you said we could pray in school , foot ball games, say our pledge of allegiance, so many things, but, I have talked to our so called ministers leaders about trying to get something along this line started, the response was " god will take care of it" but, as I tried to show them in the bible, GOD SAID" i WILL SHOW YOU THE WAY "
ASK IT IT WILL BE ANSWERED , KNOCK AND IT WILL BE OPENED , not once have I read that god would do it for you, he said he would help you and show you the way ,so if you want to try to organize I will certainly be the first to assist you in any way I can,

Roch, the fact that SOME (no one can definitely say "most") of the founding fathers were Freemasons should tell you something, but you are apparently unaware of what that is.

Freemasons share ONE common religious belief, and that is a belief in one single Supreme Being. No athiests or pantheists or multi-deity religions allowed, but beyond that belief, a person could be a Jew, a Catholic, a Presbyterian, a Muslim, or some other single-deity religion I can't think of offhand.

So, yeah, the founders who were Freemasons believed in God, but some may have thought he sent a savior to die on a cross and some may not have.

This country wasn't founded on "christian" principles so much as it was founded on principles of individual liberty.

I'm not sure that's even relevant anymore, since nobody seems to have a clear idea what that means nowadays. Give me my Social Security, no matter who you have to enslave or rob to get it.

I guess that the first thing that needs to be established is, aside from the obvious first visitors visitors to North America who would be the Knights Templar in the 1300s and the Norsemen in the 1500s, the people who landed at Plymouth Rock came to these shores travelled across the Atlantic to find a place where they could practice their very, very strict religion based on Christianity. Hence the name PURITANS. If you believe that these were the people who lead to the founding of the USA then, YES, the country was founded on Christain Principals, however, if you know the truth, the country was actually founded on the principals of FREEMASONRY which is non-sectarian and mostly based on the same foundations as the Hebrew Religion.

Without getting into a huge discussion on the matter, everyone is somewhat right in this, but most of the Founding Fathers were, in fact, FREEMASONS.

The founding fathers drafted and ratified the first amendment to protect individual rights and to avoid undue influence on the government from religious groups. The Bill of Rights was passed only a couple of generations after the counter reformation so the memories of inquisitions and other religious tyranny were still very real to them.

I guess you would like to see the return of laws against heresy and blasphemy.

As for Intelligent Design, it is taught in our High School in a comparative religious class. That is where it belongs. It is not science because it does not implement the scientific method. It is an ad hoc argument.

Roch Cop....go back to school!

It never ceases to amaze my that SO many people believe America was founded by the Puritans! Didn't you people pay attention in school?

First it was the "lost colony" in Roanoke...then the Virginia Colony in 1607 and THEN it was the puritans around 1620. Who arrived with the pilgrims on the Mayflower....not all pilgrims were puritans! Private companies applied for patents to colonize.....one being the Virginia Colony.Did you know the first slaves arrived(1619) BEFORE the puritans? The Va Colony was not here due to fleeing religious persecution in England....they were here to make money!

We were founded on Biblical principals, but not necessarily Christian principles. The Catholic Church was oppressing the people in Europe and we protested. America is not a Christian nation and to consider it such would be evil. Freedom of religion must reign. To force someone to ascribe to Christian doctrines would be a violation of every type of freedom.

... you're taking steps toward making Christianity a national religion that is state mandated...

first you do this... then you think, well maybe we should do more, and since you've already started, then why not... right...then 10 years later, it's a national religion... but which one could it be? because you just can't have Christianity... you have to decide Catholic or babtist... or from any number of other denominations...

do you want someone telling you which church to go to? because that's where you're going... but hey, don't take my word for it... go ahead and do it...

if you fight it when it gets to that point... they will just label you an athiest and throw you in jail...

My high school prays after every football game, the atheists could not care less because they realize that it is what these people want to do. Why can't all atheists be this understanding?

Our founding fathers were predominately agnostic fyi, we dont need religion in politics or goverment, christians attempt to impose their values and beliefs on all of us and basically hate freedom of choice.Chruches are granted tax exempt status yet are the largest real estae holders in the world! The majority of world conflict stems from either chirtians or muslems or judeaism. wish they'd go away

You sound just as bad as a fascist Muslim. You can do that in some other country but this one already have a constitution, and most Americans don't appreciate your disrespect to our fore fathers efforts.

Maybe you should act more like Christ before you label yourself christian.
