Since you have an even number of elements in your set, the median is the average of your two middle values (9,15) = 12.
(If you had an odd number of elements, the median would just be the middle number)

The Median is the middle number in a set. Since this set has six numbers, you have to average the middle two numbers. So, It would be 9 plus 15 divided by two. SO, the median of this set is 12.

There are different ways of calculating the median whether or not there are even or odd number of items.
If the number of observations n is even, the median M is the mean of the two center observations in the ordered list.
In this case you would average the numbers 9 and 15, which is 12.

I only see one set. Since it has an even number of values, the median is defined as the average of the middle two values,
(9 + 15)/2

the median is the number in the middle of the data set so in the data set 1,4,9,15,25,36, is 12 because in this case there is a even set of numbers, so there are 2 numbers directly in the middle, so you take both of the middle numbers and add them up and then divide the sum of the two middle numbers by 2 so you would end up with a median of 12. Good luck!

First note that you only have one set of numbers.
The median is the middle value after you arrange the data in order.(You must memorise this).
If there is an odd number of data then there is one such value and the answer is clear.
But if there is an even number of data (as we have here), there are two middle values and then we take the average of those two.
Here the two middle values are 9 and 15 and their average is 12. Simple?

you cross off the 1, and the 36. then u cross off the 25, and the 4. you are left with 9, 15. you add these two together. you will get 24. then devide by two. you will get 12.
that is you anwser. 12
