There is no social responsibility to get married at or by any age. You are more socially responsible if you wait until you feel you've found the right person to get get married to rather than just getting married to meet some sort of timetable.
Marriage is a religious ceremony that has been co-opted by the state and has become more of the signing of a contract than a declaration of love. You don't need to get married to be in love. All marriage does is form a corporation between the spouses and gives them certain legal rights as that corporation along with certain discounts on taxes, insurance, etc.

Why would you say such a stupid thing! Everyone knows their own mind usually and when someone decided to get married or even if the decide never to is their own choice! It has nothing to do with social responsibilities!

No. There are many variables including the desire to establish a career, obtaining an higher education degree, wanting to provide a proper quality of life for spouse & family to simply not yet finding the right person with whom to share their life.

well.. my friend is 29 and waiting for the right girl.. so i dont think it is taking social responsibilites... b/c he controls his life.. and when he finds the right girl.. they will probably be together.. for a long time.. or maybe even 4 ever...

I'm 31 and never been married...

People move at different paces and I'm not clear on who declared marriage a social responsibility.

marriage is not a social requirement not everyone should marry and some people are not mature enough until later in life much later look at oprah.

I pretty much agree with everyone - there is no reason not to wait until you're 30, UNLESS...

If you've been dating this guy since he was 20, then there might be a problem.

He sounds like a genius. Why get married so soon? It's even better to wait until about 80 so that sex and kids won't screw it up.

no a person shouldnt get married until they are ready no matter what the reason is marriage is a big you need to be able to commit all you have to it and not have anything to hold you back
