I don't think its rude or yelling. I put CAP LOCKS because either I'm trying to make a bold statement or because it's proper grammar :)

yes, learned that the hard way myself, and when i wrote that person back and asked them why they were scolding me about being mad, see i was using caps because they are easier to see.

that person was nice enough to explain to me it was an understanding in the computer world, meaning anger......i don't use them now unless i am trying to give a point and want attention on the matter i am discussing

hope this helps

In the world of cyber-chat etiquette, all caps is the equivalent of shouting, or yelling. It's rude. Here's a link with even more cyber etiquette...

Yes it does seem like you're yelling.... and, if you look at it..... All Caps makes the text really difficult to read.

Not REALLY. It just inflects a different meaning on what you're trying to say, although sometimes it can be interprted as yelling.

when you do caps lock for some adjectives, nouns, or verbs in a sentence it seems like you want them to stand out or show more emotion for them.
for example:
The girl yelled:
This is stupid SHUT UP!

see the capital words (shut up) is said in more emotion.

If it is all in caps, it is yelling. One or two words is just to draw emphasis to it
