find the idea of all these bands annoying, who claim to make rock music, yet there lyrics are full of love, and good positive feelings.
i'm only 20, so i haven't been round since rock music has, but isnt the whole point of rock music to be about anger, rage, and basically to get rid of any angst when you listen to it.
i'm personally a hard rock fan, so i find it very annoying and embarrising being lumped together with people who call themselves rockfans, yet they arent listening to sabbath, slayer, the crue, maiden, anthrax
i mean some of sabbath's songs are about love, but there about wanting to get laid, due to being young and horny, there not about,
"finally getting with this one special girl, and if they don't, they're gonna slash there wrists"
it really pisses me off, as i feel these wimpier bands are giving rock music a bad name, and making it no better than crappy manufactured pop

almost all rock music was about love when rock was new (like the beatles and elvis).... its just those emo/metal bitches that turned it into hate and sadness etc

You are right in some points, a lot of "old shcool" rock was born out of the same sadness as country etc.
But I think there is a place to have this new breed of "feel good rock" just as long as they are decent tunes. I don't feel it's watering down the whole name ofg "rock" as there have always been well understood sub divisions fo the genre.

like Black Sabbath & Deep Purple & Rush but I also like The Guess Who & Styx & Johnny Tillotson so whatever rocks you is

Tell you what try Kiss the American Rock band they are Quite good and The lead singer does something which is worth watching for. Try God of thunder I think you will like that very much

i know all this punk and grunge/emo rock is killing what's left of what we had.im actually younger than you so i really can't say *we* can I?my friends listen to total crap like Panic at the Disco and things like that and i hate it so much. I've recently got one of my friends obsessed with GNR and another with motley crue and a little with Maiden but it'll never change... :,(

thank you somebodyhas the same view as me i am trying to introduce my son to the love of rock music (he loves iron maiden so job done) but you look at the rock groups now
1 i have never heard of them
2 they are crap
3 they dont play heavy metal
so how can they class themselves as rock musicians
