What are the best parts of Chicago for singles in their 20's?
How much can I expect to pay in rent?
Do I need a car?
I will have to wear suits and business casual to work. How much should I spend on work clothes?
Where are some good places for nice but inexpensive work clothes?
What is a good source to find services such as dry cleaner, hair dresser, doctor, etc?
Is there one source of info for all these things I need to know? Maybe 2?

to live, south loop, loop, near north, linoln park, lincoln square go to www.apts.com

pay in rent, anything from sky high to around $900 a month for a tiny 1 bedroom or a studio

need a car? no. that's the best part of living in this city. although they are handy.

clothes. well I can't help you there. I guess Lord & Taylor, TJ Maxx and Marshalls are the places I shop, and watch sales, etc.

For services, most people just use whatever dry cleaner is in their neighborhood. Ask around at work about hair. The doctor will depend on your insurance carrier.

For entertainment, try www.metromix.com

That depends if you are planning to actually live downtown, or in a nearby suburb. If you're going downtown, you don't really need a car - you can take city transit wherever you need to go.

Rent varies depending on the area. Your best bet would be to check a Chicago paper (Chicago Sun-Times http://www.suntimes.com) or craigslist.org for rent pricing and other things.

What type of job are you getting in Chicago? Not everyone wears business attire at their jobs, it depends on the company.

Here's a couple sites on city life: http://www.uchicago.edu/docs/chicagoguide/

There's also a program that will hook you up with a guide to show you around chicago. http://www.chicagogreeter.com/ Nothing better than a local giving you the 411!
