I just found out that my x-girlfriend was hiding a camera in my bedroom without my knowledge and putting the video on the internet and selling it for her own profit. I just found the website and I want to know if i can sue or if the courts would just tell me to get over it????

if you were filmed without permission for profit then you have a case. plus porn is a highly regulated industry she may be in violation of those laws as well.

If it was without your permission, and she made money on it, she can be held liable, the same way that a fashion model can hold a photographer liable for damages if he publishes or sells photographs of him or her without the appropriate legal forms.

That said, if it is not a significant amount of money, it may not be financially feasible to sue, as attorneys cost on average of $180 or hour per more in most places.

You can sue. It is illegal to record sounds if the person does not know they are being recorded that is a federal offense. I would take her to court to get all of her profits now and in the future.

Best to talk to a lawyer, you can get a free consultation on the matter.

Personally I would say, yes. VIdeotaping without consent is against the law, especially if it contains xrated footage and is sold for a profit.

But that is just my opinion. She was certianly wrong for doing that.

You can sue and you have a good case. There have been several of these cases in California that have all gone your way.

if she did this without your permission, then yes, the problem is her word against yours...she can easily say you gave her consent...you have to have proof, you were filmed without your knowledge.
