The truth as you know it. I don't think it is any different from reading them fairy tales or allowing them to watch and read all the other fiction in the world. If you want to teach them what you know as the truth, do that about every single thing. If I had to pick and choose, I don't think "Santa Claus" would be that harmful. After all, most children through their own intelligence, can distinguish what is real and what is not when they reach a certain "young" age. Tooth Fairy, Yahweh, Easter Bunny...when they leave home, they will find out about all the things you want to hide from them anyway. Just don't take the fun out of being a child.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I grew up believing in Santa as a kid, but I never feared him, and my parents never tried to make me fear him.
I also knew that the true meaning of Christmas was to celebrate the birth of Jesus! I believe it is possible to do both. I don't think it is blasphemy to believe in Santa, or to have your kids believe in Santa!
My personal opinion is, as the world gets more and more lazy, a lot of parents especially. These holidays have increasingly become more "satanic". Parents don't want to take their kids to the mall to sit on Santa's lap anymore, they don't wanna go walking through the neighborhood on Halloween (because we all know dressing up like your favorite super hero and getting free candy from your neighbors is Satanic! I believe its in the Bible, in Opinions 32:7)
That's just my opinion though. LONG LIVE SANTA & THE EASTER BUNNY!!!

thats a very interesting point. but i was never taught to "fear" santa, and the "have you been bad or good" was just a little saying. I'm not sure about anyone else.
Good question though.

Well, the use of Yahweh suggests a Jewish denomination, but I don;'t know many Jews who use the full name as it's disrespectful to God (I think).
Some people have no sense of imagination...
