We would say, "Nice trial run; see you in two nights."

Well, being from the US. I do think this is a bit silly to start so early. So, find a treat, make them do a trick. Ask them to come back on the 31st again on the real holiday.

I hope a kid is doing such a thing and they're parent/s shouldn't be letting them do this. But . . . kids will be kids. If they play dress up too many times, perhaps they will get it figured out that they are not fitting in with the rest of the kids in the neighborhood?

tbh - I don't like the whole trick or treat thing. I think it's wrong the way it's done. Originally they were supposed to show you a trick - not knock on the door and expect to be given money to go away so you don't get your rubbish tipped everywhere!

I'd tell the kids that it's not halloween and leave it at that. I wouldn't invite them to come back though! I'm a Mum and there's no way I'd let my little girl go knocking at strangers doors in the dark - halloween or not. It's not a good thing to encourage.

Decorate the house, have some friends over, make pumpkin lanterns and play some games - don't go out knocking on strangers doors. At best you annoy people who are not interested - at worst some nutcase decides your child looks appealing.

In America, some smaller towns will change the date for Trick-or-Treating to a weekend. It's usually announced in the media before hand.

if your in england they do it all the time, its not that they have the dates mixed up, they usually arent even wearing a costume!
They expect that you wont have any sweets, so youll give them money instead, just say youll be a minute and come back with some eggs or tomatoes to throw at them and shout them down the road! LITTLE BRATS!

Lucky you I live in the Uk and I have decorated the garden, have spooky lights outside and loads of sweets.

But no trick-or-treaters.

We had them 3 days before Halloween last year - they have all vanished!!!!
