THE NAYAKS BUILT IT WHEN THEY RULED MADHURAI FROM THE 16TH TO THE 18TH CENTURIES.

Madurai was the capital of Pandya
Kings. It is located near a river
called Vaigai.
There are several temples in Madurai.
But Madurai is famous for the
Meenakshi Temple. Which is a marve-
llous architecture. The deity is
shown to the visitors at appointed
hours of the day.
One can offer prayer there, after making
payment for prasaadam.
Madurai is about 400+ kms from Chennai,
and is well connected by road and rail.

you must mean the Meenakshi temple in Madurai. Its in Madurai..evident aint it??
