I was having an disscussion with my dad, and he says you can not change the Rear Spoilers angle at all before, during or after the race. I say you can, because its a strategical part of racing. He says its a set degree for every car.

Is it a set degree for every car or is does the spoiler have to be within a certain set degrees, and can be moved within it?

Another question, why would they allow a game player to change the spoiler angle in every NASCAR video game since NASCAR 98'?

I have NASCAR 98' (PS), NASCAR 99' (PS), NASCAR 2001 (PS), NASCAR 2002 (PS, XBOX), NASCAR 2003 (Game Cube), NASCAR 2004 (PS2), NASCAR 2005 (PS2), NASCAR 2006 (PS2), and played NASCAR 2007 (PS2).

All NASCAR games allowed me to change the spoiler angle, except on the newer ones, i couldnt change it on Daytona or Talledega.

the spoilers are set at a minimum of 55 degree, they can raise them up, but not down. this is the same for all 3 series, cup, busch, and truck.

NASCAR sets the maximum angle, minimum angle, and height of every spoiler. With the common template, every manufacturer uses the same spoiler. Since the cars in NASCAR are so heavy and make so little down-force, there's no real advantage in running a lower spoiler. These days, the cars are either set up for producing the most down-force, or none at all. According to the rules, the teams can adjust the spoiler during the race, and teams used to adjust it frequently. However, NASCAR now requires so many support brackets, it would take too long to change the spoiler angle during a pit stop.

Each model car has a spoiler setting determined by NASCAR. They are not the same across the board though, each car has different settings. The angle of deflection is checked before, during and after qualifying, and before, and after raceday. The set angle may not be changed or adjusted. Of course, the settings differ from class to class.

The angle is pre-determined by NASCAR prior to the start of any racing (practice, qualifying, etc.) You are not allowed to change the angle of the spoiler during the race because all of the cars are inspected prior to the race and after.

I think it is set and there is no adjustment during the race. Otherwise, you would hear the reporters covering the pitstops saying something about a crew member making an adjustment to the spoiler.

each race has different specs for each different car..
they are not allowed to alter any part of the actual car that effects aero..
you can always tape..untape and whatnot, and of course bang out if you were in an accident, but that's about the most you can do with the body of the car.
during a race you area allowed to change suspension type things, but not body type things.. that's why there is pre-race inspection..

hm...I don't know about that one...I know that there is a set length, but I've never heard anything on whether or not you can change the position of it...I've never heard them talk about the position of the spoiler while watching a race, but maybe it's just not as big an issue as other stuff...

it must be at a certain degree and NO they can not be adjusted by the crew.....only if they get into an accident and it messes with the spoiler that is the ONLY way it can be adjusted
