I don't know their responsibility but they are great at brainwashing though

The news and entertainment media are used as tools of corporations and their lackeys, politicians, to control people's minds and ensure that they are good little consumers and don't ask too many questions about corporate activities.

They just give people what they want. Otherwise, it wouldn't be around anymore. (or at least it wouldn't be so apparent).
