I know dinosaurs existed because there is evidence. But when it comes to dragons what i'm not sure about is whether most of the dragons really did have wings and their bodies were covered with scales and so on.
So did dragons exist on earth a long time ago? And did they look like the dragons we see on images today?
If yes then why and how did you get the information and from where?

No. Dragons are the result of fantasy writings, myth, and storytelling, nothing more.

All cultures have stories, myths about all sorts of animals. Dragons are in both western and eastern literature. Sometimes it clearly represents an allegory. EX: fighting a dragon is to overcome a psychological problem in ones self.
The last living mastodons were on Greek Islands. Skulls were found with one large hole in the middle and starts the myth for one-eyed giants, cyclops.
There are dinosaur fossils still visible in the rocks as well. One has a large shoulder blade that often gets pushed up in the fossil creation looking a lot like a wing bone. Hence the myth of the flying lion, griffin.
It would seem a lot of stories start from something physical, then grow with the retelling. The attractive stories with psychological meanings get retold.
I suppose the fire-breathing part was an addition to some other stories. It would make St. George seem more heroic.

I think there has to be some basis for the cave drawings and legends found in almost EVERY culture around the world. So yes, I do believe that at some time there were dragons, or at least something very close to what we now consider dragons.

i in my opinion have self assurance that dragons did exist an prolonged time in the past. human beings will say that dragons are not and not at all have been actual and that they say that using fact they're scared. i could be too if somebody informed me that there became, and nonetheless ought to be, a vast lizard-like animal that breaths hearth roaming around. It scares human beings so as that they deny it in a immediately. whilst the 1st bones of a dinosaur have been got here across it became in China. They believed that it became a dragon, a vast reptile with wings. yet then closer examine, via Europeans, confirmed that it became merely a land and sky dinosaur fossilised mutually. for sure we have no actual data of dragons ever latest, like we do dinosaurs, so the dragon theory became labeled as fantasy. Dragons are/have been an fairly smart and useful species that roamed the skies and the land and sea. If dragons have been alive on the instant they might maximum probable be the dominant species. in case you meet a dragon tutor the better maximum appreciate for them, for people are like childeren to this smart and historic species. wish I certainly have helped!..

I know they did. Even though I have never seen any scientific evidence out there, I am sure there is bound to be. But even the Bible talks about dragons existing. Most people don't know that. But we are also talking about people who think that God created the Earth in six of OUR days instead of six of HIS days. It does not mention the name dragon, but it mentions a lizard that breathes fire.
One of the apostles (I can't remember which, my husband who used to be a pastor told me about all this), mentioned a lizard that breathes fire. It also talks about a creature that is common to Final Fantasy fans that was a dragon of the sea. I can't remember it's name, but I believe it starts with an L (you would know what I am talking about if you have ever playing Final Fantasy VIII). The Bible states that creature actually existed at one time.
I don't know if any of them actually looked like the images we see today, but I believe that they did.
My answer probably sounds pretty silly, even to Christians if they don't study their Bible every day, but it's there. I just wish I could remember all the details, my husband showed it to me, but it was a long time ago. I'll have to study up on it and post it on here later for anyone who is interested.
I hope this at least gives people something to ponder anyway...lol.

Dragons used to exists. If you want evidence you can find them in most of the museums based on their structure. Their nostrils had a structure which could cause the flammable gas to blow out when the dragons required. The methane gas was produced from their nostril and ... read more about it for similar questions asked earlier on yahoo answers.

I'm afraid to say there have been no evidence of the fire breathing dragons you hear in myths, but there are similar creatures that still live on Earth today.
The Komodo Dragon.

Hey you look just like the Captain from Tintin .......oh i already did that line before in a previous answer.
Anyways, no they didnt exist, as scientists would have found bones by now.
However .........
there is nothing to say that the bones are so deep that mankind hasnt got down that far. after all has anyone ever got to the molton core of the earth. Nope, not even close. So there you go. How can we possibly disprove it if we havent even discovered all of earth yet.

as dinosaur bones were discovered in ancient times, different creatures of myth arose to account for the various skeletons. The griffin arose from triceratop bones, the cyclops from the mammoth. I'm not sure whence the dragon but isuppose the pterodactyl.

There is no evidence to support the existence of dragons. No bone left over from them in China, Great Briton, Japan, etc. I would say, alas, NO!.
