My mom has a 96' cherokee that has a strange problem, it dies going down the road at times while it is running and at times will not start back up. Crankcase TDC sensor has been replaced fuel filters and coil. Nothing has assisted...it will just mysteriously die in the middle of the road and then usually it will start back... and run fine.

Get a pro diagnosis. Since your Jeep is '96 or later, it is OBDII compliant. This means that it has an On Board Diagnostic system which will deliver trouble codes to a code scanned which plugs into the diagnostic port which is under the dash on the drivers side. Your intermitent problems is likely storing code(s) which would indicate what issue(s) are not functioning correctly. A pro diagnosis of the codes will help determine what the problem or problems are causing the stalling. This will keep the guesing to a minimum.

Underneath your coil packs is an ignition control module. When these go bad they usually work when the vehicle is cold...When it heats up it stops working. Then when it cools down will start to work again.. If when it dies it has no spark then this is most likely the problem....
If you have spark after it dies when turning the engine over you may have a fuel pump or fuel pump relay going bad. These will also stop working when they heat up when they are going bad.

Have the truck's computer checked by the dealer, also has the fuel pump been checked?

I'm sure you've checked, but make sure your battery terminals are tight and free of corrosion.
