[edit] Trivia
Akshay Kumar is the first Indian actor to have been given a four-film-deal with Adlabs company.
He hurt his back while lifting a 350-pound wrestler (Mark Calaway, known as The Undertaker), in the film Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi.
He is a big fan of Chinese martial artist and film star Jackie Chan.
Waqt was his 100th movie.
Akshay features in a Sikh religious video Nirgun Raakh Liya released in 2006.
He is also in the television ad for the Xbox 360 in India with Yuvraj Singh.
Every one wants a good screen name. And if they feel they don’t have, they just adopt another one. Stars take stage names for many reasons, often because their real name is considered unattractive, dull, unintentionally amusing, already used, difficult to pronounce or spell ((most common reason)), or projects the wrong image. Sometimes performers wish to adopt a name that is unusual (sometimes even outlandish), memorable, or that complements his/her performing persona; or because they wish to remain anonymous in relation to another sphere of work. ‘Kumar’ and ‘Kapoor’ are most attractive names for Bollywood stars and everyone wants to change his name to either Kumar or Kapoor. (Manoj, Kishor, Ashok, Dilip, Akshay).

They change their names to make themselves more memorable; for example, if someone said Dwayne Johnson, somebody would be like, "Who?" But you attach - The Rock - into that and they instantly know who you're talking about. I don't think there's any more than 10 celebs who've actually kept their real names...
