Lemming Master Says: "Everyone knows that if we leave Iraq, not only will that country have little hope of regaining any form of stability, we will likely destabilize the entire region," he said. So the current turmoil reflects the "recognition in all policy circles that we are about to enter a new phase."

Logic says: The war cannot be won for the simple reason that all of the stated objectives were lies.
We cannot rid Iraq of weapons of mass destruction because they did not have any.

We cannot harm Al Qaeda by attacking Iraq because Iraq was already an enemy of Al Qaeda.

We cannot punish Iraq for 9-11 because Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11.

Therefore, victory in terms of the publicly stated objectives is impossible. WE cannot win this war. We can only lose it, which is exactly what Bush is doing right now.

Thousands of Americans dead or crippled. Thousands more Iraqi dead as well. The region poisoned with depleted uranium. Trillions of dollars spent in an economy that cannot afford such a drain. This war fought to make a few rich men richer still is a disaster for the rest of us.

Yet people like Dov Zachiem will still struggle to find new ways to sell us more of these wars.

Your head is buried in the sand. Not only do i support this war but I support attacking and obliterating Iran and North Korea before the world as we know it ends. The war is being lost now because we are fighting like women thus getting ouselves killed. The terrorist have made their intentions clear. Don't doubt them.

"We cannot rid Iraq of weapons of mass destruction because they did not have any."

That's funny. I remember you leftist tools criticizing the US not too long ago for SELLING Saddam Hussein WMDs. So what gives? Were you and Noam Chomsky et al lying then, or are you lying now?

"We cannot harm Al Qaeda by attacking Iraq because Iraq was already an enemy of Al Qaeda."

Alright, prove you're an idiot once again. I guess next you're going to tell me that Hamas and Hizbollah can never work together because they too are mortal enemies. And then you'll tell me that Stalin and Hitler never signed a non-aggession treaty.

"We cannot punish Iraq for 9-11 because Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11."

If anyone had ever said such a thing, you might have a vague shadow of a point. But since no one ever claimed Iraq did have anything to do with 9-11, you're just beating up straw men.

You clearly are not thinking about your own claims.

"The war cannot be won for the simple reason that all of the stated objectives were lies."

Whether objectives were true or not has no effect on the outcome of a war.

"We cannot rid Iraq of weapons of mass destruction because they did not have any."

We have already found over 500 of the banned chemical weapon artillery shells, as reported to Congress this summer. Weren't you paying attention?

"We cannot harm Al Qaeda by attacking Iraq because Iraq was already an enemy of Al Qaeda."

Actually, Iraq was already training Al Qaeda and other terror groups at a place called Salman Pak. Look it up.

"We cannot punish Iraq for 9-11 because Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11."

Irrelevant statement. With the approval of Congress, President Clinton made it official policy to remove Saddam by force with the 1998 Iraq Liberation Act - long before 9/11. Clinton failed, the policy was reaffirmed for Bush, he succeeded. This was in response to Saddam sending blitzkrieg forces into Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, then violating the temporary cease-fire after they were driven back. Only lame-brained leftists think it was because of 9/11. Short attention spans.

655,000 Iraqi deaths, 3000 American death. Many thousands wounded and maimed for life. All for a war based on the lies of George Bush's, and some say it was all done for the Bush family's gain. Many more rich are getting richer. Meanwhile Americans are paying for it at a rate of billion a month. George Bush should be made accountable for these death and should have to answer in front of a international jury.

I'd love to hear your solution to the problem. I think that is why we are still there. We made promises to people who are counting on us to help the Iraqi people, and provide some sort of stability to the region. I think most people would agree with your line of thought, but the question is, now what do we do, so as not to leave the place any worse than it already is.

In a far right republican's eyes two or more wrongs always make a right if they did it.
