I believe that if all the astronomical amounts of money from ALL the countries going towards weapons, wages for the millitary, buildings, intelligence(!) etc, was spent on satisfying all people's basic needs (including the need to have a good time), there would be no need for wars (of all kinds, including totally unacceptable violent ways of protest resaulting in loss of lives). Happy people would be too busy being happy, or, perhaps, solving their personal relationship problems. I vote for further social education for our politicians. Do you? If yes, why not do something about it?
Think again....Trillions and Trillions of Dollars, Euros, Yens etc.

To clarify:
a. If that applied to ALL countries we wouldn't need to defend ourselves. From whom?
b. Religious differences always existed but you WAGE WAR on a country for it's material wealth, not it's spiritual. Anyone claiming otherwise is a hypocrite (ie conquistadores, Holly Grail, inquisition etc).
c. If, to feed my 6 children I have to kill other people's children, then I don't deserve having children. One could be reaping wheat rather than lives.
KILLING IS NOT A JOB TO BE PROUD OF.

money is not the problem, no one could ever stop wars but governments could prevent quite a few if they thought more about the situations and tried harder to come to a peaceful solution

Sorry, but you are way off base. You cannot bribe ideological Jihadists into going home and watching TV like Americans do.

War will come to you whether you fight back or not. Only the outcome will be more certain if you do not.

Sorry to say, but that is wrong. Every nation/country has a right to defend itself, and, wars have been being fought since biblical days, and even under Gods blessing.

You´re absolutely right but you won´t ever get what you want. While war destroys nations and families, it´s good business for some... extremely good business. Just imagine the commissions on the amounts you´re talking about.
I´m sorry.

You will never be able to satisfy our needs. When you have a million dollars, you want to have 5 million; when you reach 5 million, you want to have billion. Majority of the people are greedy. No matter what you do, there will be wars.

You can't make everyone happy in the world. It's a nice dream, but it's a fantasy. You forget that evil exist in the hearts of many and as long as it does we will have conflicts.

Let this boggle your mind.....

Just the money stolen due to corruption from our government alone each year.....can feed, house and cloth every homeless person in the USA for one entire year. And this is not at homeless and soup kitchen levels...this is normal clothes and eating at like McD's and Cracker Barrel.

Sad world isn't it.

It is your responsibility to satisfy your own basic needs. It is our government's responsibility to protect and defend you in the quest to do so.

All the money ever printed couldn't satisfy "peoples needs", mainly because the more you give people the more they "need" !

Maybe, but what would happen to the corporations that contribute to the Republican party like Haliburton/KBR?
