i love uk very much but i donot know why wemen is allways the head of the family and the man is ... just there, its not even funny .

It depends. In some families the man cannot even be bothered to take part, and so the woman is obviously the head of the family. Women are (scientifically proven people) more into family life than men, and now women are getting more powerful in education, and work, and are expecting to also have a leading role in their family.

Also, some men are just naturally not strong people, and so are not capable of leading a family well without the support, and guidance of their partner (this is also true for some women). Just because the UK has more independant women than you are used to, doesn't mean that the woman is always head of the family, as often they are not. Also, if a partner leaves, who is supposed to look after the family. Currently women have custody over the children more than men, and so are therefore head of the family, even if they then meet another partner.

There are still far more men who are 'head of the family' than there are women, and in many families, it is a joint role.

Women are not 'always' head of the family, just as it's not always that men are.

Traditionally it was the man who was seen as the head as it had to do with various Legalities.

My wife is a better cook than me, she is also better at a lot of other things 'around the house.' But in other areas, I'm 'better' for the task or in dealing with things.

We at least have some flexibility in our relationship which I am delighted with. I'm quite happy to take he back seat, as it were, and let her take the control - until i might disagree. Then we open negotiations and 'fight.'

In UK we dont go by old ways any more, women tend to let the men think there the boss when realy the women call the shots. So many women go to work now and the men stay at home looking after the house and family.

Its just evolution, the way UK has developed. And its for the best.

Most men work hard, and not that women do not, but men seem to want to be laid back and let the women take care of everything, they do the grocery pay the bills, take care of the children, cook the meals, wash the clothes clean the house,wash windows, sweep down the stairs take out the garbage wash the dishes,etc!! You're generalising. Maybe you're so used to seeing women being the underdog, you're amazed to see women who stand up for themselves without being physically intimidated by their partners. Some women are bullies - they are in the minority. In some cultures men are encouraged to rule women by physical intimidation, and they believe that equality would make the woman the boss - not true. There should be no bosses in marriage - it kills love and happiness. The man should be respected for what he does and the woman should be respected for what she does - equal but different.

I think you don't recognise "sexual equality" when you see it. You might be used to subservient women who know their place.

ok i am not in the UK, but i am head of household b/c: one my husband works out of town, but when he is here he is equivalent to a child in the way i have to deal with him. he is lazy and does not do anything. and if anyone says that "oh, he is off working while you get to stay home!" i will seek you out and whack you. i have to be independent or i would not make it without him here, H*ll even with him here.
