Always ask her on everything she says. It will get so annoying to her being caught or not being trusted that she will think twice before she speaks , well, most of the time, I hope. I had a friend like that . She got mad but learned her lesson!

This person needs help. Habitual lying is a sign of deep internalized stress, perhaps from a childhood trauma. You have to see behind the behavior to the root causes. She may be in denial about this. So try to get her to see a good trained counselor she can trust. My educated guess: there are deep issues in this girl's life that make her lie.

Some people just refuse to stop. Because they think what they're doing is cool or they just don't get it because they're thick-headed or just prefer to ignore. Just go up to your friend and confront her. Tell her that lying is just getting a little annoying and that it's stupid to lie about things anyway. If she doesn't stop...As you mentioned, she's starting to lose her friends. Maybe that's what you should do too!

You are to separate from those who do not speak the truth. She has to come to terms that it is not necessary to lie ever. Being a friend is not lying. God does not want us to lie to each other and when you do it does damage our relationship as friends. I pray you take heed and find your self better friends. God bless you
