Yes, it could and probably is menopause. A lot women in their 40's mistake menopause for pregnancy because the symptoms may be similar. You should recommend a pregnancy test. If it's negative, you'll know it's just the start of menopause.

Relax.
Yes, she could be pregnant, if she has been having unprotected sex.
She can also be pregnant if her method of birth control failed her.
She could also be pre-menopausal or have other issues.
Her cycle could have just changed as well.
Don't put pressure on her, but ask her to take a home pregnancy test, if not for herself, but to put you at ease.
Good luck and remember, this isn't about what you want, but it's about what your mom wants. Support her either way.

IT IS ONE OF TWO THINGS YOUR MOTHER IS EITHER PREGNANT OR IS STARTING THE MENOPAUSE. ITS PROBABLY LIKELY THAT YOUR MUM IS PREGNANT BECAUSE PERIODS DONT STOP ALL TOGETHER AT THE START OF THE MENOPAUSE. WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT YOUR MUM DOES PREGNANCY TEST AS SOON AS THEN YOU ALL KNOW WHERE YOU STAND,MAYBE YOUR MUM ALREADY KNOWS THE ANSWER BUT WAS WORRIED ABOUT YOUR REACTION IE. WILL YOU SUPPORT HER? IT MUST BE DAUNTING AT 44 THINKING CAN I START AGAIN. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU AND YOUR MUM.

It could be perimenopause. She should take a HPT and then go to the doctor regardless if she's pregnant or not. Best of Luck to the both of you!
