Most migrate to the southernmost part of their range. However, some species are non-migratory and don't go anywhere for the winter and are yearround residents. The Anna's Hummingbird is one of them so I keep a feeder up for them all year. (here in So. California)

Depends on the particular hummingbird species and climate, if it is warm enough, some stay. Otherwise they migrate to somewhere warmer.

They go to warmer places, because in winter flowers die, so they have no food, so they go to warmer places where nectar is plentiful.
