Good day. I may not answer yur question but check this. If u at a different level and no routers around the house, it is very hard for wireless to pass thru walls. Then again how thick is the wall and how far away from the source or wireless may give you problems. Also yur connection may be good but things may be slow. Analogy is that all the water pipes around yur house may be well connected, no leakages etc but yur water supply may be poor.
Make sure yur wireless connection is firewalled cause if someone is hacking, they may be using yur connection and squeezing u out so check yur internet and router properties. Laterz.

The only thing I can think after all that you have already done, would a firewall. Do you have firewalls running? Disable the firewall. Mainly disable the windows firewall. Some people have this, some don't.
Here is another way to speed up connection
Click START
click RUN
type: CMD (then hit ok)
Black DOS screen appears. Type this exactly:
ipconfig /flushdns
This is like deleting cookies, only it deletes a history of ip addresses that may be stored up. Also Who's service do you have? Broadband, DSL, or dialup?

possibly it has something to do with the distance between your dsl device and the laptop. your pc may be too far from the device. you should not be more than 50 ft away from it but not as near as 2 feet.
another possible cause can be an electromagnetic interference from any other devices you have at home like your appliances. they can interrupt wireless signals. make sure that your dsl device isn't too near with any of those.
if the distance is okey, try to increase the wireless channel in the dsl device. if you don't have any idea on how to reset the wireless channel you can call you device manufacturer or your internet provider.
I hope this helps.

Tell me your processor speed and system RAM memory. The hard drive memory doesn't affect how well the computer will run but the system memory will. You should have like 512 MB minumim at no less then 2.0 ghz. Also if you have a laptop then they do tend to where down. Also if you just got IE7 then that might also be the problem..

An internet connection can become slow or stop working due to a number of reasons depending on the type of the connection. Many of the problems can be solved by making software changes or small hardware corrections. Detailed instructions at http://tinyurl.com/yl62gz

When you start your computer all the things have to load and they run in the back ground, Go to start and look for your run type in msconfig and hit OK then a window will come up and so yo to start up,UN check anything that loads at start up that you have installed,Such as yahoo mess, msn, stuff like that but leave anything that says system checked UN check the rest hit apply OK and restart and see if that helps Good Luck

Make sure no one else is on your network. People can use your network and suck up the internet speed. You can check by going to your network setup, if you use linksys, type in http://192.168.1.1/ name and password is defaulted at admin. Also, if the internet web pages seem slow, lose the internet explorer. I use Mozilla Firefox and I can tell a HUGE difference in loading times of websites.

that happens to me sometimes because the router is on the first floor of my house and my room is on the second floor. your best bet is to move "closer" to the router location. another tip is that it could be that someone's stealing your wireless internet. you should check outside if there any weird cars parked outside for long periods of time. also, you should install a password on your wireless internet network so no one can connect without knowing the password. you can do this by reading the router manual. it's either a WEP or WPA.
