We have 4 bathrooms. The only one with a problem is the one closest to the septic tank. I've heard bubbling a couple of times and it doesn't flush cleanly. Drains and other toilets work fine. We had a houseful of company for two weeks. They left a week ago. Not sure if that is part of the cause or not. It didn't start giving us problems until after they left. Is a plumber the only way to solve the problem? I put half a bottle of Liquid Plummer in the toilet and let it stand for 15 minutes. It didn't work.

As an update: 4 hours after trying the Liquid plummer, the flushing action seems to be working properly (didn't catch my daughter before she went in the bathroom!) but a bath tub being drained in another part of the house caused the bubbling again.

BTW: we do not have a basement.

Do something about it soon....!
I had the same problem, and just ignored it. Soon later the c...p came up in the basement toilet and shower.
If you want to save the plumber (mine charged only $80.- (cash!), then find where your service lid in the basement is, rent a "snake" (say, from Home Depot) and do the work yourself. I would bet that's exactly what "Mr. Rooter" would also do.

U can try to use a plumbers snake. It sounds like some flushed a paper towel of a feminine product and its stuck in the pipe. U can snake it out or call a plumber.
