I work in a field dedicating to helping people communicate better.
Yes, you are right to say getting things off your chest helps people calm down, but there are ways of doing it that do not harm others while expressing feelings. If the question was insulting, a calm rely can cut through the bs, whereas an insulting reply is easier to dismiss.
I agree that someone deliberately setting out to upset does not deserve respect. However, aren't you giving them the buzz they want if you get in a radge too?

No way
we have enough words of insults in day to day life without it being on
Yahoo answer. If you want to get it of your chest about an insulting question use your key board. Use X and * to get it of your chest.
And as for them that ask the insulting questions it could take them some time to work the X * out because they are such stupid people to ask
the question in the first place.

No, it is not a good way to calm yourself and you are teaching others, specially young people to do the same, there are other ways to calm down. Insulting or saying bad words is not the solution to any problem, you better talk about it.

I don't think it is a healthy idea because it may do more harm than good.I believe that we are here to share our knowledge and help each other.Won't you agree?
I am sure there is always a better way or solution to whatever it is that's bothering us.
I know being 18 and still a student,I still need a lot to learn. Therefore why not share some of your knowledge with me and frankly speaking,I really appreciate it if you would.

No, I don't.
If you need to get something off your chest, that is what friends, therapists, and blogs are for.
Insulting someone will not calm the one you insulted down and off you go on a vicious cycle.

As the bible says, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"
that is treat people how you would want to be treated, in a nice
respectful way,
there is no room in this world for abuse,
If people are posting questions(the legitimate ones of course)
they are seeking help, constructive criticism is ok, provided it dosn't become insulting or abusive".
Treat the site in a nice way and it will treat you nicely back.

I think there should be a seperate category for insulting questions so that people who wanted to avoid them, could.
I don't think there's ever a call to be rude. Or insulting. Why offend people? Just because one has no self discipline? We should mind our manners and respect others.

The questions are already insulting - I find it extremely offensive to look at poorly spelt words, with all the commas & apostrophes in the wrong places. Yahoo should edit the questions before they go into their categories.

The problem is, who decides what is insulting and what isn't. A lot of people think that any opinion other than their own is an insult.
