My Friend Courtney (she plays the flute) told me to make a tub of luke warm water and some non harsh dish washing liquid and then take the flute apart and and put it in the tub and let it sit for a couple mins then wipe down with a wet rag and some of the dish washing liquid then rinse out and put on clear surface and let sit to dry.
It also works on brass instruments

Be carefull !!! All musical wind instrument manufacturers have different finishes. The top expensive flute's are pure silver. I recommend you get the opinion of an expert at a musical instrument repair store of what you may do. Might cost a few $$$, better than ruining it.

You can go to your local music store, and buy shiner. It's about $20/30 a piece where I live.

Silver polish. You can get a good polish cloth in a cleaning kit.
