Give her facts not opinions. I would do as much reserch as possible. She obviously didn't want to get pregnant, but to do the adult thing is to have the baby and if noone in the family wants to adopt the baby then give it up for adotions. Let her know about all of her choices. There is open adoptions that she can still be part the childs life, closed adoption that she does not have to know the people adopting her baby. And there still is the choice of her raising the baby. She's not alone in all of this. family support for her is a very very important thing right now. IF she is not old enough to get an abortion then her mother would have to sign for her and if her mother disagrees with this then she dosen't have to sign for her. The teen obviously needs some kind of direction right now. There is no way that having an abortion is going to fix the situation, it possibly will just make the whole thing a heck of alot worse. Just give her all of her options and the decision will be between her and her mother in the end. I hope she makes the best decision and keeps the baby or gives it up for adoption.

Best of Luck. Please stay postive in the talk and through all that may happen.

Depending on the age of the pregnant teen, HER MOTHER should explain that she will help her in any way she can. It is not your place to say anything. Having a child young is not the end of the world. It can be a very rewarding experience in the long run. There is always a lot of tension among families during a teenage pregnancy, but when that baby comes out he or she will be loved by all. Tell the girls mother to explain to her daughter that everything happens for a reason. She is pregnant with a child that she will love and it will change her life forever. Tell your friend to be SUPER supportive and everything will be fine in the end.

Make her reconsider not having an abortion? Is that your right? Is it your body? NO its her body and her decision. I know a 16yr old girl that wanted to have an abortion and my friends boyfriend {the girls father} pushed her to carry it term and give it up for adoption. When the girl felt it move for the first time she wanted to keep it. When she saw the baby and held it for the first time she wanted to keep it. But again came the pressure of "your only 16 you cant provide for this child, I will not raise another child, you have your whole life ahead of you". So she gave it up for adoption {open adoption she gets pics and letters once a yr} and to this day 3 yrs later she still cries and looks at every little girl that she passes wondering if that is her baby. As for her mother, if her mother really wants someone to talk to her it should be the MOTHER talking to her. My god people that are so anti abortion piss me off its a womans right to make a choice and if you want to look at it as "its a human being" fact is that human being is not even a viable fetus until it is 24 weeks gestation and if it was born at 24 weeks gesation odds are very high that it would have life long profound handicapps! How do I know that? Because 13 yrs ago my daughter was born just shy of 24 weeks gestation due to an incompitance cervix and although she survived through great medical care she is profoundly handicapped {and the love of my life} and now at age 13 due to disease progression is considered terminally ill. So back off the child and let her do what is right for HER not for her mother or you!

I know how they are feeling....I just found out (my family also) just like 2 weeks ago if that -that my 17 year old sister is pregnant. I talked to her and so did our mom about what she could do...Either have the baby or have an abortion if she wanted. She is still a kid herself but after i guess that i read about abortion to her and then i guess she thought about it along with her brainwashing boyfriend she has decideded to have the baby which i am fine with but i do not think her boyfriend is good for her at all. He is a pill head by the way.

All you can do is tell her her options and it is her choice what she wants. If she chooses abortion then it must be because she knows she is not ready to be a mom and dosen't want to go through 9 months of pregnancy and take care of a kid for the next 18 years.

Her mother should talk to her. Just support whatever she chooses.
Good luck

You should give her the honest pros and cons of both having an abortions and not having an abortion. Take a non-biased approach to the situation and help answer any questions or concerns she may have. She does have options: abortion, adoption (open or closed), keeping the child, etc. I'm sure there are many online resources for discussing this, as well as practical common sense. In the end, she is going to make her own decision. You, and especially her mother, just need to be there to help along the way.

It sounds like she has lots of love and support tell her that. Ask her why she really wants the abortion is she scared or really doesn't want the baby. I don't know her age so it's hard to give good advise. Read some books on the subject of abortion. Also let her know she is already pregnant there is a baby inside of her and it is hers.

I really don't think it's your place to pursuade her one way or another, even if the mother wants you to talk to her. Tell your friend, the mother, to do her job as a parent and talk to her child herself. The two of them together need to come to a decision that's best for them, since at that age both of them will be raising the child. I do not under any circumstances condone abortion but I respect people's choices.

If the teen wants to talk to you, just be there to listen. Let the mother do her job.

The decision is really up to the teen and her parents. They need to look at their situation carefully. Does the girl want to finish school? Is she prepared for the extra responsibilities of a child? Is the family in a good financial position that will allow them to adequately take care of a baby? Does the baby's father have any say in the matter?

This child needs LOVE, LoVe and lOvE plus acceptance. An abortion is not a way out, as the teen may regret it for the rest of her life. There are plenty of other paths to consider.
