i said something to my friend that i shouldn't have and now he won't answer my emails. my friend and i are really close, like brothers. he's got new people in his life, and i haven't seen him for the longest time. and since we are like brothers, this may sound childish, i felt like i was being replaced. so i told him. he told me to 'lay off' and i haven't heard from, seen him since. what could i say to make my friend realize how sorry i am?

Say nothing, he needs his space and some time to cool off right now, and the more that you bug him the more he is going to ignore you. I know it is hard to back off sometimes but when things go wrong the best thing to do is to leave it alone. He needs a minute to be able to miss the firendship too and when you are hounding him it just makes him want to stay back. SO cool your heels and let him realize what the friendship means to him.

That may be difficult since he seems to be flourishing. He may not have as much attention for you as he used to have. You could send him a card saying: Still bro's right?

All you can do is apologize. If he can't accept it or if he holds your being honest against you then he is really not much of a friend.

Try to write him a letter if he won't talk.
