I think it is a real stunt for publicity. I just don't understand that if she wanted to adopt a child, why did she not adopy an orphan, why take a kid that has a father. I appreciate the fact that she is giving a child who needs it a home, but I don't think the motive is a good one.

It is a mixture of both. Madonna really is adopting a child which is great but she is doing it for publicity because she was on Oprah, besides her world tour didn't sell so much, so she is trying to stay in the spot light. Another way to reinvent herself.

Though it may have been a publicity stunt (who knows), I feel she took a kid out of poverty. Not sure what the big deal is. If I were that kid, I would be happy to know that I had some years added to my life.

Is it just me or does anyone else think its odd that she is adopting a child at the same time that she is coming out with a new album??? Maybe I'm a little paranoid but...

well it is for real, but who knows why she did it.
if shes happy w/the child, im happy for her, but i dont know why she would do it.
