You can right click on my computer hit propoerties and you can see how memory you have in your computer so that you can upgrade...now if you want to know the speed it may acually say it on the physical chip so you would have to open your computer and pop out the memory and look at it...

I think the only way to find all that is to open the computer and take out the RAM stick and look, don't forget to switch off and unplug first.

right click your mouse on "my computer" on your desktop, choose properties from menu that opens. Give it a second and all info will appear in lower right of new window.

hit windows key then my computer and then system info on top left corner. It should be written at bottom of list, I have 1Gig but then I paid for it.
