Yes, you can make a purse. The way I did it was to cut off the legs just as if you were making really short cutoffs. Then, sew a seam across the bottom where the crotch is. Cut it straight across so that it will sew evenly. That is the bag part of the purse. Just keep the pockets on. You can use them for small items. The waistband is the top.
For the strap, cut a long piece from the leg of the jeans. Use whatever length you want for the strap, but use double the width. Fold it down the length, and sew it so that the right side is showing, but the edge is turned inside. Then attach the strap to the purse, either by sewing it, or with a big fancy button.
If you want, you can also decorate the purse with decals or beads, etc.

You can make them into like a purse or something so that you don't have to get ride of them. To make them into a purse or bag just cut them to the length you want the purse to be and either glue it with superglue or sew the bottom. And you can put little decorations on the purse to make it cuter. And you could ribbon for the handles.

Cut the legs off just below the butt cheek area and sew all the way across, add a cute strap and other embellishments and you have a purse. Then cut and fray both ends of the legs, tie a pretty ribbon/cord around one end, stuff it with filler, tie the other end and you have 2 matching denim pillows. When they get dirty, just untie, pull out the filler and wash them.

I have the same thing, I think most girls/women have their small jeans, their everyday jeans that fit now, and their big jeans....I save them, because I tend to go from size to size, and I always buy jeans that don't go out of style.
so, what I would do is either keep them, in hopes of one day getting back into them, and if that's not an option, then give them to someone who really needs clothes, goodwill, ect...you would be surprised at the amount of people around the country who don't have but one set of clothes to wear, take it from me, I'm in my fat jeans now, and trying to lose weight, and probably will never get back into the ones I want, but, have almost gotten back to some of them.....but, to me, the best thing to do is give them to charity. If you don't want to do that, then cut out patterns from them and sew them onto jeans you have now that fit, make a new style, purses are really out now, made of jeans, unless you can really sew well, cut off the leg of the pants, and sew them and put different things on them...also, you could just keep them, and show your grandkids one day, yeah, I used to wear that size myself...but, to me, the best thing is giving them to someone that they will fit, even a friend, relative ect...if you don't want them just lying around....and if you have enough of them, make a quilt, they are back in style...good luck..

You can cut them out to make a handbag,a headband,or you could do what my mom did with her pregnancy jeans:leave them in a plastic bin and whenever you need a patch of denim just cut it out.If not, just save them all up and make a jean quilt/comforter.

if you can still get them on, put them on and do some lunges and squats to stretch them out a bit. If that is not an option, undo the seams and use the fabric. You can make a lot with denim fabric, or save it and use it in the future for patches.

You can cut off the legs, sew it shut and cut handles out of the legs and sew them on the waist. Voila! A pretty handbag!
