A LUBE JOB refers to LUBRICATING all the suspension joints (ball joints, tie rods etc.) that have grease fittings. Most of todays vehcles do not have grease fittings on them. Therefore, do not require a LUBE JOB. But, the regular maintenance interval of 3000 miles (5000 kilometers) or three months that EVERY vehicle requires, is still called a "Lube, Oil, Filter" by most places. Hope this helps to clarify your question.

I applaud your efforts and attention to detail. I think 25-30 minutes is a reasonable time in which to do what you do. Obviously your boss cares more about making money for the shop than truly caring for the customers who come to the shop. Respectfully share your stance with safety and customer satisfaction with your boss ...maybe he'll relent. You might have to cut out the multi-point inspections if they are not considered as part of the oil change ...try doing the work without that and see how your timing works out. If all they want you to do is change oil then maybe you should bide your time and do just that. You don't want to get fired and you don't want to quit after just starting. Sometimes you need to make some personal adjustments. Be safe but whittle it down to just the oil change. While this is going on, keep your ear the ground for a job at another dealership ...and if the opportunity avails itself and you're really not happy there at the Acura shop ...then you leave making sure you give the proper advance notification ....that way they'll have nothing on you.

No, actually. Some newer cars, especially the ones that are front wheel drive do not have a place to grease them. If you are driving something rwd or 4wd like a truck or sports car, some of them have multiple places to lube or check for oil such as rearend or transaxle. To know exactly you would need to give me the type of car that you are driving. If it is an automatic front-wheel drive, chances are all it would need is an oil change. If it is a standard front wheel drive they would need to check the gear oil in the transmission.

have them both done at same time, that way you will never have to wonder whether what you had done last time. also have tires rotated every other oil change. any time you have your oil changed you should look under car yourself and ask ques. about what you don't know
